There is nothing that brings about any more apprehension than a waiting room. Whether it’s an emergency, return visit for test result or even a routine checkup in the middle of a work day, each waiting room experience brings its own level of anxiety and fear.
If you ever have had the waiting room experience, I ask you-what did you do while you waited? Did you read, did you pray? Did you take your mind off of your own situation by helping to console someone else? Did you fuss (and maybe curse) about the wait time? Did you threaten to not return? Did you leave without an answer for the reason you were there in the first place?
I think it’s interesting to note that the more severe your reason for being in the waiting room, the more likely you will stay until your answer is given or the situation improves.
The same is true for our waiting room experiences that we have with God. He does not always answer us right away or provide immediate solutions to our problems. We often times must wait through turbulent situations which try our patience. I ask you what do you do while you wait?
31 But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint. Isaiah 40:31 KJV
It is my prayer that you don’t give up and leave the waiting room before you get your answer, your solution. Pray, read, help someone else while you wait! But most of all believe God’s promises for those who wait it out no matter how long it takes!
