We’ve all been lied on at some time or another but the worst of lies come from others attempting to discredit your testimony and witness while covering up their continuance of sin. Recognize that the lie may have some truth to it but it’s primary purpose even for being shared is to discredit and discourage you!
Ayn Rand was a Russian-born American novelist, philosopher, playwright, and screenwriter. She is known for her two best-selling novels, The Fountainhead and Atlas Shrugged. Rand had this to say about a liar:
“People think that a liar gains a victory over his victim. What I’ve learned is that a lie is an act of self-abdication, because one surrenders one’s reality to the person to whom one lies, making that person one’s master, condemning oneself from then on to faking the sort of reality that person’s view requires to be faked…The man who lies to the world, is the world’s slave from then on…There are no white lies, there is only the blackest of destruction, and a white lie is the blackest of all.”
Better yet, the word of God puts it this way:
“9 This man will come to do the work of Satan with counterfeit power and signs and miracles. 10 He will use every kind of evil deception to fool those on their way to destruction, because they refuse to love and accept the truth that would save them. 11 So God will cause them to be greatly deceived, and they will believe these lies. 12 Then they will be condemned for enjoying evil rather than believing the truth.” 2 Corinthians 2:9-10
The Lord is calling like never before for the true believer to “come out from among unbelievers”! (2 Corinthians 6:17) Be clear that your “coming out” may not be “from the club” but rather “from the church “building”” or “church people” that continue to exchange the truth for a lie as if judgment day is not fastly approaching. I hope this list will help you evaluate as you make haste to separate lest you be among those who like the earth will be excavated from God.
A true believer:
1. Believes the word of God
2. Has a hunger for God’s Word
3. Prays to his Heavenly Father
4. Loves others
5. Obeys the Lord and keeps his word
6. Does not continue in sin but lives a righteous life
7. Does not enjoy living in sin
8. Performs good works
9. Confesses Christ before men
Just as it is written in the Matthew 13:36-43, God will judge the field and separate the good seed from the weeds at harvest time. Don’t be fooled by formal robes, clad suits, spit shine shoes and smooth talk. Man looks at the outer, God looks at the heart. Thirst for yourself and discern now what is good and what is evil. Everyone who has ears has the privilege of hearing for themselves what the Spirit of the Lord is speaking to the people (v. 43). Choose this day to stay bound by lies or be free to what’s true!
