Have you ever had a disappointing or hurting situation that you decided you would stay in? Leaving a situation is not always the best option so I ask you-how did you stay?
Did you stay with animosity? Did you stay playing the revenge game? Did you stay with no interest, no motivation, no determination to be your very best? If your answer to any of these questions is yes, I ask you poignantly-why did you stay?
The challenge today if you choose to stay is to get up and get over it! Yes-in order to be the very best and have God’s very best we must be willing to get up and get over it- whether we stay in or get out of it! A runner in a race doesn’t quit because the baton is dropped. He gets the baton and gives it his very best! He realizes that as long as the race isn’t over, anything can happen!
Paul said it this way, ” I press on to possess that perfection for which Christ Jesus first possessed me….I focus on this one thing: Forgetting the past and looking forward to what lies ahead, I press on to reach the end of the race and receive the heavenly prize for which God, through Christ Jesus, is calling us.” Phil 3:12-14
if you’ve decided to stay in the race, whether someone else drops the baton or you fall down, don’t get up or continue lackadaisically. You’ll never know the outcome until the very end!
I charge you-get up and get over it!
